FOXextender is a communication extension that enables the reading of operating parameters from FoxEss inverters (specifically the G3 series) using the SunSpec standard. It is useful in situations where:

• You wish to integrate your inverters with an external monitoring or energy management system.
• You need to comply with grid operator requirements (e.g., regarding the remote control of a micro-installation).
• You plan to expand your system with additional components, such as energy storage units or tariff-based charging control.

Key functions of the FOXextender:

• Protocol conversion: enables communication between a FoxEss inverter and systems that utilize the SunSpec standard (e.g., SUNintegrator).
• RS485 compatibility: operates via the RS485 communication port, which is standard in PV inverters.
• Integration with energy tariffs: can work in conjunction with a PVMterminal device, which retrieves energy price data from the power exchange (RDN, RCE-PLN, CRB-PROG).
• Compliance with DSO (Distribution System Operator) requirements: facilitates the execution of commands such as "stop generation" or "power limitation" in accordance with SunSpec standards.

When should you use it?

• If you have more than one FoxEss inverter and want to integrate them into a single management system.
• If your inverter does not natively support SunSpec, yet you must meet formal requirements (e.g., NC RfG).
• If you want greater control over your PV installation—for instance, in the context of dynamic tariffs or remote operation.
